‘I REALLY COULDN’T BREATHE’: Deebo Samuel Shares His Scary Battle With Pneumonia

San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel was admitted to the hospital on Monday due to pneumonia and all kind of concerns started surrounding the player and the team. This happened after being seen on oxygen during the game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

After getting out of the hospital and stepping back on the practice field, the player himself provided an update on his current state heading into the following NFL week in which they will face the Dallas Cowboys.

“Honestly, like, I really couldn’t breathe, for real,” Samuel said on Friday. “I didn’t really know what was wrong until after the game.” He is set for a return but as he seems to be physically ready to play.

The problem occurred during the first quarter and sometime later he left the locker room with no pads on, which heralded an even more serious problem and then he was attended to by the team’s medical staff. But he started to feel even before.

“Probably when I went out to pre-game warmups and I had no energy to run or anything for a while,” Samuel said.

“Then, I came in and we tried to do a little IV (to) get a little energy. Gladly, we found it right after the game and everything else as well.”

He has very sincere about what he was dealing with, and he will be under observation but he will be back on the field. Still, it was no joke.

“Yeah, it was scary, because it was kind of hard to breathe, for real. You can’t take deep breaths,” he said about the matter.
