Trade rumors involving Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Houston Rockets have reappeared, reigniting speculation.
While the Golden State Warriors are apparently battling for the Greek Freak to improve their title aspirations, the Rockets have a definite plan to acquire the superstar. But nothing is fixed in stone yet. Meanwhile, Brandin Podziemski is a player who will undoubtedly appreciate his team’s recent faith in him.
When everyone assumed the player would leave the franchise as part of the trade to bring in Giannis, Kerr gave him a shoulder in a news conference.
“He’s not shooting much confidence right now. I think that’s obvious. This is part of being in the NBA, you know, an 82-game season. Everybody goes through stretches where, you know, you just don’t quite feel it,” Kerr said about Podziemski.
Struggles are part of an NBA player’s journey, but a sharp decline in shooting confidence is particularly concerning. Last season, he averaged 9.2 points in 26.6 minutes per game, but this year, his production has dropped to 7.8 points with a worrying 38% shooting from the field. These numbers highlight the player’s ongoing confidence issues. However, with Steve Kerr’s wealth of experience in the league, he knows how to navigate such challenges.
It must feel great when your head coach supports you like that. After all, you were on the verge of getting traded to the Bucks. Yet, Kerr believes in Podziemski’s talent and he will probably come good in the coming weeks.
“The way he shot at the end of last year, all summer, watching him, in camp. He’s a really good shooter. So, he will find it. We gotta help him a little bit. Right now, he is just not in rhythm. Not shooting it with confidence,” Kerr added.
For now, he can be safe by not involving himself in the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade. For now, let’s say considering Houston Rockets came into play.
Houston Rockets might help Brandin Podziemski’s Warriors stay following Giannis’ admission!
When Klay Thompson left the franchise, they needed a marquee player to replace him. There are so many names on the list, but Giannis fits the bill perfectly. His output, both on the offensive and the defensive side of the game, could raise the quality of the Warriors.
So if they got Giannis, the Warriors could have sent Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, Brandon Podziemski, De’Anthony Melton, and 4 Unprotected First-Round Picks to the Milwaukee Bucks.
But the Houston Rockets came into the part revealing their plans of landing Giannis. As of right now, the Rockets are fourth in the Western Conference after a terrific start to the season. Players like Fred VanVleet, Alperen Sengun, Jalen Green and more have shared the scoring load proving to be a tricky opposition for the multiple teams.
Dreaming big with Giannis, the Rockets could package Jalen Green and a few others to build a powerhouse lineup in Houston. Adding to their ambition, they’re eyeing Kevin Durant as a potential future acquisition. For now, though, Brandin Podziemski seems secure. After all, he’s earned the franchise’s trust and wouldn’t want to leave the supportive environment.
With Stephen Curry’s mentorship, Podziemski might just unlock his full potential in the days ahead.
