The Dallas Cowboys are still one of the favorites to win the NFC next year despite a disastrous playoff loss to end the 2023 season.
However, optimism around the team’s ability to make a postseason push in 2024 could take a massive hit if they part with one of their star defenders.
According to reports on Friday, Dallas has grown ‘frustrated’ with the behavior of All-Pro pass rusher Micah Parsons.
Shan Shariff of the 105.3 The FAN indicates the Cowboys could move on from Parsons if the team decided for a roster rebuild and that many in the organization would be ‘breathing a sigh of relief’ if they parted with the star defender.
Although Shariff says that he has personally heard from multiple sources within the team that Parson’s behavior has “worn thin” on most, one former Cowboys star believes the organization could be planting fake reports in order to drive down their soon-to-be fourth-year player’s value.
Longtime Dallas wideout Dez Bryant shared that belief on his own Twitter (also known as X) page shortly after the Parson’s rumors began trending.
The former Cowboys megastar did not hide his belief that he thinks that his old club is trying to devalue Micah Parson as the star defender approaches the end of his rookie contract.
Bryant replied on Twitter to a post suggesting Parson’s behavior has become a problem within the organization, saying, “Aw (expletive) I know how this goes SMFH. (Micah Parsons) this what happens whenever it’s time to get paid.”
Bryant continued, replying to fellow Twitter users responding to his original post. Bryant states that these potential false accusations only happen to a ‘certain type’ and that he won’t receive a lengthy contract extension without his name being ‘smeared.’
Bryant was the 24th pick in the 2010 NFL draft. He spent eight seasons with the Cowboys, earning three Pro Bowl nods and appearing on the All-Pro team in 2014.
He eclipsed 1,200 receiving yards three times while leading the NFL in receiving touchdowns once. Bryant was labeled a locker room multiple times during his playing career.

NFL Dallas Cowboys, Micah Parsons
While on the field, Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons is one of the best pass rushers in the NFL. The third-year pro registered 14 sacks, 18 TFLs, and 64 tackles in 17 games.
Parsons had made two first-team All-Pro teams during his career, including winning AP Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2021.
However, Parsons struggled in his team’s lone playoff game, a blowout loss to the Green Bay Packers.
He collected just two tackles with no sacks or TFLs, while Green Bay totaled 415 yards and no turnovers. Parsons received scrutiny after the loss after failing to meet with the media.
