The San Francisco 49ers have advanced to the Super Bowl to lock horns with defending champions Kansas City Chiefs and superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes after a hard-fought battle against the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship Game.
Even though the 49ers have slim chances to come out on top against Andy Reid’s squad in the big game at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, many seem to believe that Mahomes and company will win their third Vince Lombardi Trophy since he took over as the team’s starting quarterback.
The Chiefs have done nothing but prove their doubters wrong ever since the NFL playoffs got underway, as they were able to get the best of the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, and Baltimore Ravens to advance to the Super Bowl for a second straight season.
That is why Nick Wright said recently on “First Things First” that there is only one way the 49ers can take down the Chiefs.
“I think the only way San Francisco can win is in a shootout,” Wright said.
“I think the only way the 49ers can win the Super Bowl is in a shootout.”
With the Chiefs paving their way to another Super Bowl appearance this year, Kansas City is a serious threat to win it all once again, as it is hard to bet against this team no matter the opponent.
Brock Purdy and his squad will have to play top-notch football on both sides, which will be tough against a team that is more battle-tested than any other in the NFL in big-time games when the pressure is on and the lights are the brightest.
